...a few Vitruvian Men that are a bit difficult to categorize, but that we couldn't resist including in the site...

hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy

Vitruvian Man, guide style:

source: BBC Online Hitchhiker's Guide

This image was created for the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy TV series. From what I can gather, this image is supposed to represent "hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings," which are embodied in earth as... mice.

As the Hitchhiker's Guide official site says: "Mice are not, as is commonly assumed on Earth, small white squeaking animals who spend a lot of time being experimented on. In fact, they are the protrusions into our dimension of hyper-intellegent pan-dimensional beings. These beings are in fact responsible for the creation of the Earth. "

Anyone familiar with the Hitchhiker's Guide Trilogy will join me in NOT trying to understand just what is meant by this statement...

chakras

"There are 7 notes in music, 7 major planets in astrology, 7 colours of the rainbow, 7 traditional vowels (alpha to omega), 7 metals of the alchemical process (base lead to pure gold) and 7 crystal systems (hexagonal, rhombohedral, triclinic, monoclinic, orthorhombic, tetragonal and cubic).

The human body has 7 major energy centres, or chakras. Chakra is the Sanskrit word for wheel or disc, indicating both the shape and dynamic nature of these subtle vortexes."

The Kacha Stones company chooses to represent these "7 major energy centres" on the Vitruvian man. The Renaissance ideal of proportion merges with an ancient Indian method of facilitating "sevenfold self-transformation"...
